A summer camp for Vietnamese youths and students in Europe titled “Vietheart Summer Camp” is being held in the Czech Republic on August 17th -20th to unite the Vietnamese community there.

About 500 Lao women are being screened for breast and cervical cancers free of charge at the Mother and Child Hospital in Vientiane by 21 health workers from Vietnam National Cancer Hospital (K hospital), Vietnam National Cancer Institute, on August 15th - 17th.

Bang Long Pagoda, Buddhists, benefactors and Blue Star Group organized a charity program to help disadvantaged patients being treated at Laos’ military hospital 103 in Vientiane on August 14th.

A training course on Vietnamese teaching in 2017 for overseas Vietnamese teachers was launched by the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Training on August 14th.

(CPV) - The Cultural Centre of Vietnam in France (CCV) and the Vietnam National Drama Theatre recently worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece and the International Folklore Union (IGF) to organise a Vietnamese traditional folklore performance.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos presented USD2,300 raised by staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and other agencies besides the Embassy to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on August 12th to support the movement on sharing hands with people in the northern mountainous region.

A conference themed “Overseas Vietnamese contribute to the development of Ho Chi Minh city” was held on August 3rd by the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Ho Chi Minh city Institute for Development Studies and Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Economist Annual Meeting (VEAM) 2017.

A special art program performed by talented children from Vietnam has been organized at the Vietnamese Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand.

The working delegation of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen province led by Consul General Nguyen Ngoc Son on August 2nd visited overseas Vietnamese families suffering flood damage in Sakon Nakhon province, northeastern Thailand.

The World Folklore Festival 2017 took place on July 27th – 31st in Bistrita, Northern Romania, with the participation of representatives from India, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkey, France, Ukraine, Vietnam, Greece, Italy, Serbia and the host country Romania.

Ho Chi Minh City Days were organized in Vientiane by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the city People’s Committee, Vientiane Capital Party Committee and the capital People’s Committee, on July 29th.

"ASEAN Family Day" was held at the Sports Park in Croissy-sur-Seine city in the western suburbs of Paris by ASEAN member countries, with the participation of a large number of staff, embassy staff, families and French friends on July 29th.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh spoke highly of the role of the Vietnamese community in Singapore in connecting the two countries during a visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore on July 15th.

An exhibition titled “Vietnam: Country, people seen from sea and islands” is on display at Republic Square in Prague, the Czech Republic.

The Cambodian Vietnamese Association in Cambodia’s capital city of Phnom Penh and the Golden Land Cambodia Group (GLCG) on July 9th gave presents to overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia and disadvantaged Cambodian residents.

Member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party’s Politburo and President of the Lao Front for National Construction Saysomphone Phomvihane had a meeting on July 7th with the Vietnamese community in Laos onthe occasion of the occasion of the 40 years of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.

The amount of remittances sent to Ho Chi Minh City via official channels reached USD2.1 billion during the past six months, up 1% over the same period last year.

Vietnam Culture Day was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the administration of Vienna city, in Vienna City Hall on July 3rd.

A friendship and solidarity exchange between the Vietnamese Embassy and Lao Embassy was organized at residence of the Lao Ambassador in Washington, DC, the US on July 2nd.
