On December 19, in Hai Phong City, the Pha Rung Shipbuilding Company under the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation signed a contract to build a new batch of 3 ships to carry oil and chemicals with a tonnage of 13,000 tons, for export to the Republic of Korea. The contract also includes the building of an additional 2 ships after completing the initial series of 3 ships.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will prioritise cooperation with Can Tho in reducing waste, medical waste of the Can Tho General Hospital, and climate change in agriculture, according to USAID Director Aler Grubbs.
